Our Story
Salon Society & Co. was established in 2016 with a different approach to the traditional salon model - creating a beautiful, considered space where experienced independent hairdressers could run their own businesses while working alongside one another.
Set within a heritage building in the heart of Newcastle CBD, the salon is home to a carefully selected group of freelance stylists, each with their own clientele, expertise and individual approach to hair.
For our clients, this means the personal relationship and continuity of having your own hairdresser, within the atmosphere and experience of an established Newcastle salon. Our stylists work across cutting, colour, blondes, balayage, lived-in colour and keratin smoothing, with appointments managed directly by each stylist.
The space itself has always been an important part of Salon Society & Co. Light-filled, spacious and quietly refined, it was designed to feel less like a conventional salon and more like a place you genuinely enjoy spending time in.
Almost ten years on, the philosophy remains much the same: exceptional independent hairdressing, a beautiful environment, and the freedom for both our stylists and their clients to experience the salon in a more personal way.
